Recently, a Pittsburgh-based composer, Robert Neumeyer, dedicated a song to our music director, Catie Brown, and the All Saints Parish Choir.
The song has been published nationally by GIA Publications - one of the top two companies for Catholic Music, and the company that publishes many of our hymnals.
The song is "Be Still, My Love" and the dedication to our choir is listed at the top of one of the pages. According to the author, this is an adaptation of Psalm 46:10 "Be still and know that I am God."
The author writes, "The restrained, simple accompaniment figures and suspended harmonies remind us that, just as Elijah experienced the Lord in the gentle whisper of the wind, we too can strive to feel his presence in stillness."
Commissioning work is typically a very expensive process, and he kindly dedicated it to us for free.
GIA is a national/international company - so this is big deal - and every piece of music will have the name of our
parish on it. The current catalog for Advent/Christmas is published with several of his songs and this piece will most
likely be included in the spring catalogue. It can be found online here:

The choir will be singing the song this season, and we look forward to Mr. Neumeyer joining us for a performance.
