WELCOME
Welcome to the GriefShare Series presented by Butler Area Catholic Parishes. It is our hope to offer you the opportunity to find support and guidance as you journey through the grief of your loss. At GriefShare you will learn valuable information that will help you through this difficult time in your life. It is a place where you can be around people who understand how you feel and the pain of your loss.
SHARE
There is no requirement to talk or share in the group, but you're encouraged to do so!LISTEN
Be willing to listen. When someone else is speaking, focus on what that person is saying to learn, comfort and help. Good listening builds relationships.BE SENSITIVE
Some of you are naturally outgoing and comfortable sharing your feelings. Some of you are a bit shy. If you are outgoing, make sure you don't dominate the group. If you tend to be quiet or shy, try to participate (you'll be glad you did).MAINTAIN CONFIDENTIALITY
Don't talk about things you hear in the group to people outside the group. This will help develop an atmosphere of trust. (Keep in mind, there is no way the group can guarantee confidentiality, so use discretion about what you share.)
Feel free to share your experiences, but refrain from giving advice, and limit sharing time to allow others the same opportunity to share.BE ON TIME FOR THE MEETINGS
Knowing that schedules, traffic and other issues can hinder your arrival, attempt to arrive ahead of the group’s start time to be organized and ready to begin on time.MEETING DATES / TIMES
10 sessions: April 23, April 30, May 7, May 14, May 28, June 4, June 11, June 18, and June 25
(June 25, 2025 is the close with snacks, desserts, and a memorial prayer service. Sessions resume in Sept. No July or Aug. sessions )
Time: Meetings are 6-7:30pm in the St. Peter Church Rectory meeting room, lower level.St. Peter Rectory is to the right of the church.
