Our faith formation program is making a move.

     Previously, classes were offered on two campuses — Contemporary Catechesis classes were offered at St. Michael and the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program was offered on the St. Conrad campus.

     Starting in the fall of 2022, all classes will be held in the Religious Education Building on the St. Conrad campus on Sundays from 9:45 to 11:15am and Mondays from 5:45 to 7:15pm as follows:

     The class times coincide with Sunday Masses at St. Conrad, which are 8:30am and 11:30am, so families can attend Mass before or after faith formation classes. We offer Contemporary Catechesis for grades K-8, Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Level 1 for ages 3-5, and Homeschooling for non-sacramental years. (See descriptions below.)

      We offer three options for Faith Formation for ages 3 through 8th grade. 

• Contemporary Catechesis is “traditional” faith formation done with a flare.  We use books from Our Sunday Visitor’s Alive in Christ series as our primary resource. The series offers all kinds of ideas and resources online and the teacher manuals offer creative teaching styles. We add other things such as movie clips and music that solidify the lesson’s theme, art projects, Bible skits, and much more. Contemporary Catechesis has been around for awhile, we just never put a name to it until now! 
• Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is an experiential way of teaching children about God, our faith and Jesus, the Good Shepherd. Materials are based on the Bible, Roman Catholic liturgy and sacraments, Tradition, and Church teachings. Info: https://www.cgsusa.org/ 
• Homeschooling is a great opportunity for parents and children to develop their relationship with God within their own family. Student(s) work at home with their parents as primary teachers. Parents become the primary educators of our faith when their child is born and baptized. We provide the student book and other resources, some of which are available online and in print. Students are asked to meet with Sister Teresa twice each semester. Parents may find that homeschooling for Faith Formation brings their family closer together.
