This is an overview of the DMI results for All Saints Parish.
We wanted to share the end result of the Disciple Maker Index, the survey you filled out months ago from the Diocese of Pittsburgh, that was ultimately looking for a vision from parishes as they go into the next 3-5 years. The following is what All Saints Parish submitted after our Envisioning Team reviewed your responses.
Parish Vision Statement
All Saints Parish, rooted in the sacramental life of the Catholic faith, seeks new and improved ways to evangelize the faithful through modern technological communications avenues such as television, live-streaming, and podcasting. Additionally, the parish will continue its vibrant liturgies, pastoral care of people in need, and compassionate support of those who grieve. We will continue to educate children and adults through our faith formation program, and our relationship with Butler Catholic School.
Three Parish Priorities
Priority 1
Improve and expand communications strategies via implementing a new television/livestreaming camera system and processes at St. Paul Church. This system will be used for daily broadcasting of the Mass, and possibly for other liturgies, i.e. Christmas concerts, ‘teaching Masses,’ catechetical reflections.
SMART goal #1: Implement new camera system – already accomplished. The system was implemented and has been in use since December 2023.
Action Item – continue learning how to best utilize the new camera system (4 cameras), along with recruiting more parishioners interested in and capable of operating the system professionally and respectfully so that the viewer experiences as much as possible the holiness/wholeness of the Mass.
SMART goal #2: Use the new system to broadcast other liturgies – already accomplished. The annual parish Christmas concert was live-streamed, and has over 500 viewers.
Action Item – when able, live-stream liturgies that are not broadcast on the Armstrong Cable, i.e. Holy Thursday Mass of the Lord’s Supper.
Priority 2
Increase information technology capabilities and security, and increase social media presence by expanding the usage of current platforms for evangelization purposes to include a higher frequency of posts, promotion of parish events, and video reflections.
SMART goal #1: Hire an information technology director for the parish.
Action Item – the parish hired an IT director in December 2023, and numerous projects are in process to enhance building security, cybersecurity, communications efficiency, and parish presence via social media.
SMART goal #2: Purchase and implement a new parish office(s) phone system.
Action Item – implement the new system that will connect both parish offices and streamline incoming phone calls by the summer 2024.
Priority 3
Increased, and more focused and creative evangelization efforts via in-person events and podcasts to include faith formation, a speaker series, adult learning opportunities, and youth involvement.
SMART goal #1: Hire a director of evangelization for the parish.
Action Item – the parish hired a director of evangelization in August 2023; this person has been, and continues to engage with parish youth and adults, offering opportunities for encounters with Christ via speaker events, praise and worship evenings, and strengthening the relationships between Butler Catholic School and local Catholic high schools.
SMART goal #2: More frequently communicate the opportunities for parishioners to learn, live, and love Jesus and the Catholic faith via book clubs, Bible studies, and the RCIA program that already exist in the parish.
SMART goal #3: Develop and produce parish podcasts.
Action Item – working with the pastor and the director of evangelization, the parish director of communications will spearhead podcast opportunities during 2024, with the goal of interviewing various people with inspiring stories and messages of hope, and offering suggestions about how to put that hope into action.
