During World War I, Pope Benedict XV made repeated but forlorn pleas for peace, and finally in May 1917, made a direct appeal to the Blessed Mother to intercede for peace in the world. Just over a week later, Our Lady began to appear at Fatima, Portugal to three shepherd children: Lucia dos Santos, age 10, and her cousins, Francisco and Jacinta Marto, ages 9 and 7. Fatima was a small village about 70 miles north of Lisbon.
Our mission is to help people learn, live and spread the message of Our Lady of Fatima in communion with the Church and in concert with the New Evangelization.
During these times of uncertainty, let us become people of prayer.
The Blue Army holds First Saturday devotions to Our Lady of Fatima at St. Paul Church.
The group meets for the 8am Mass on the first Saturday of the month followed by the First Saturday Devotion prayers and the rosary. A meeting follows in the Collins Room with a speaker, discussion, 15-minute meditation on the Rosary, and fellowship.
Our Lady of Fatima requested this devotion.

Our Lady came to Fatima to bring a message of hope and peace to the world during a time of great upheaval in the world.
The core of her message can be expressed in three simple sentences:
1. Addressing the eternal order, she told us that hell exists and that souls are being lost to it because there is no one to make reparation for their sins.
2. Speaking of the temporal, she said that war is a consequence of sin.
3. The salvation of souls and the attainment of world peace require the conversion of sinners. “People must stop offending God because He is already so much offended.” (Oct. 13, 1917)
1. Daily offer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the sacrifices demanded by the duties required of your state in life, as well as whatever hardships and difficulties God permits in your life, in reparation for sin and for the conversion of sinners. In other words, “offer it up.” Sister Lucia considered this the essential everyday response to Fatima.
2. Pray a Rosary daily while meditating on the mysteries, especially for world peace.
3. Consecrate yourself to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and wear the Brown Scapular of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel as a sign of your consecration. (Read more about Marian Consecration)
4. Practice the Communion of Reparation on the first Saturday of the month, popularly known as the First Saturday devotion.
The devotional requests of Our Lady of Fatima provide the precise weapons of spiritual warfare so desperately needed today – the peace plan from heaven. These requests constitute the devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, which God wanted established worldwide, and was the mission given to Lucia.
