Altar servers assist the priest and deacon during Mass and other liturgies. Those who serve in this capacity must work with dignity and handle the objects of worship with reverence. To become an altar server, you must be a baptized Catholic who has made his or her First Communion. Training is handled by Deacon Mike Kaufman, who will walk you through the process and teach you how to become an altar server. He can be contacted at [email protected] or at 724-287-1759.

Parents,
It is a moment to feel closer to Christ and a moment to serve God, all while getting a different perspective of Mass as a young person.
Take a moment and consider altar serving differently. Yes, it is an easy way to serve, assisting in the washing of the hands by the priests and deacons, and receiving the gifts, but it can be a seed planted now, for later years when, as adults, they are teaching the next generation.
No matter the age, altar servers make the worship more reverent and efficient. Some have said they feel ultimately more connected to the moment.
Student Altar Servers must be active members of the parish community, believe in the teachings of the Holy Catholic Church, and have made both their First Confession and First Holy Communion. The required training to serve at the Altar of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, will teach the basics of the different parts of Mass, and how to carry out specific tasks. Children must arrive on time at their assigned Mass schedule.
Parents, you are encouraged to be mentors to your children for ongoing learning and experiences as an Altar Server.
To initiate this process, you must authorize your child’s participation in the All Saints Catholic Church Altar Server program and acknowledge a willingness to support your child in all aspects of this ministry.
If your student is interested in being an altar server, please reach out to Deacon Mike Kaufman at [email protected] or call 724-287-1759 ext. 0 to sign up.
Thank you!
